Ricki Mountain

Contemporary American artist Ricki Mountain was born in California, where she currently maintains a studio. She is self-taught, having been influenced by her Uncle a prominent artist in his own right. Ricki has been painting for over Ten years and has experimented with many different painting techniques including textures, unique papers, and other mixed media, and collage. Ricki often uses the technique of "sgraffito", a process in which scratching reveals fragments of the layers of paint beneath the surface which enhances her signature style. Her art invokes an emotional response through bold composition, heavy texture, and vibrant color. Her design elements ,and color compatibility enhance all decor styles. Ricki is licensed, and published with Bentley Publishing Group, a family owned Publisher for over 20 years. Her line art and collages have been displayed on several Art Zine WEB Galleries, and featured in the Spring 2003, Fall 2003 Spring 2004, and Summer 2004 of aRtiTuDe Magazine, as well as Somerset Studios October 2003 issue, and Somersets Gallery III 2003 Issue Her artwork has been shown nationally and is in Private and corporate collections in both the United States and Europe. Ricki's art has been said to be intellectually stimulating, compositionally bold, and completely original....
