Jack Law
         
Artist Biography -
John W. Law - Jack is an accomplished artist and writer whose
work has appeared in newspapers, magazines, books, posters and
the Internet. After graduating from Temple University in 1988
with a major in journalism and a minor in graphic design and
advertising, he began his career in the newspaper business as a
reporter/editor and newspaper designer for Suburban Publications
in the Philadelphia area in 1988. He earned a first place
Pennsylvania Newspaper Association award for design in 1993 and
in 1994 relocated to California as an editor and designer for
the Alameda Newspaper Group in Northern California where he
designed news pages for five daily newspapers including the
Oakland Tribune. Moving to corporate communications in 1995, Law
continued to write for newspapers and magazines freelance while
working full time in corporate communications for a major
accounting firm in the Bay Area. His work included the
production of books, marketing collateral, advertising, and web
site content. In 1998 he authored his first book, Curse of the
Silver Screen Tragedy & Disaster Behind the Movies. In
addition, he has designed the covers for a number of other
published books. In addition to writing, his interest in graphic
design led to other book and catalog cover designs as well as
advertising design, corporate logo creation, and web site
design. An accomplished artist, Law has been painting for more
than 20 years. While his work is mainly acrylic on canvas, he
also works in pen and ink, pastel, and collage. His work has
been featured on the cover of monthly news publications, in
newspapers and he was commissioned by Labcon North America to
paint original artwork for the cover of their 2001 and 2003
international product catalogs. In 2004 he was selected as a
finalist in an international art competition by a gallery in
